About Ottomans & Poufs

An ottoman is the most useful piece of furniture nobody plans a room around. It works as a footrest, a spare seat when company arrives, or — with a tray on top — an ottoman coffee table, and a storage ottoman bench adds a place to tuck away blankets, remotes, or toys at the same time.

Round, square, and bench shapes

Round poufs in boucle or woven fabric suit a reading corner or a spot at the end of a bed, while large square and rectangular ottomans double comfortably as coffee tables set in front of a sectional or sofa. Bench-style ottomans stretch the available seating along a wall or across the foot of a bed for extra guests.

Materials for every room

Leather ottomans hold up well in high-traffic living rooms and are easy to wipe clean, velvet and boucle bring in texture and softness, and a dedicated outdoor ottoman is built with weather-resistant materials for a covered patio or porch. Look at the frame construction as much as the upholstery fabric — a solid, well-braced base is what keeps an ottoman from wobbling once it's holding both a heavy tray and a pair of tired feet at the end of the day.
