Dunmore Boucle Arm Chairs in Cream, Set of Two
Boucle earns its reputation honestly. Up close it is all loop and nub and shadow; from across the room it reads as a single soft cloud of cream. The Dunmore uses it well, wrapping a sculptural open C-shaped backrest in plush teddy fabric that begs to be touched on the way past.
The counterpoint is black metal. Tapering legs run up past the seat to become the chair's structural frame, drawing a thin dark line around all that softness. It is a mid-century curve rethought with an industrial spine, and it works as easily at a dining table as it does pulled into a corner as a reading seat.
