Dinner for six on a Tuesday and twelve on a Saturday is a genuine design problem. The Brookmead solves it with an 18-inch removable extension leaf that takes the tabletop out to 100.25 inches when the guest list grows and returns it to conversational scale when it does not.
The finish is a bold black wood with wire-brushed distressing, an aged treatment that keeps the surface from looking like lacquer and gives the linear silhouette real texture. A slightly curved chamfered top softens the edge under the forearm. Wide legs in an exaggerated block design carry the length without visible strain.
