Before you order, measure the exact spot with painter's tape on the floor so you can see the footprint in place, and leave a few inches of bare floor around the edges rather than pushing the rug wall to wall. For layering, a small rug can also sit on top of a larger one to define a reading chair or a plant corner within an open living space.
